Introductions Come First

Where to start?

I suppose that several reasons exist that explain why I'm making this little sports blog.

1. It could be so that I have an outlet to talk about sports without driving my fiance completely crazy.

2. A very wise man named Terry Gildea, you may know him from Texas Public Radio, told me that having a blog that is popular is a good way to get a foothold in the journalism industry.

3. I have a dream. That dream is to be the next Bill Simmons. If you do not know who that is then I feel sorry for you. To make explaining it easy he is my favorite sports writer and you can find him on espn.com.

Those are probably the three main reasons for this blogs creation.

Now, let's get to it!

This blog is where I will be provided my own stories, reflections and insight on the happenings of the sports we all love.

I will be covering teams and sports that are not represented in San Antonio as well as those that are in my happy little city.

Just to get some preliminary info out of the way I will list my favorite sports teams so everyone can know ahead of time who I'm rooting for on Game Day.

NBA: San Antonio Spurs

College Basketball: I don't really have one. I like Purdue and UNC but I wouldn't say I have a favorite.

NFL: Green Bay Packers

AFL: Philidelphia Soul. How can you not like a team with Bon Jovi at the helm?

NCAA: Nebraska Cornhuskers, LSU

NHL: New York Rangers

AHL: San Antonio Rampage

MLB: Texas Rangers

College Baseball: LSU

Rugby: Wales

Soccer: Alamo SC, because I work with them, and they're good.

I think that about sums most of it up. Obviously if I think of another one I will put it up.
